Leaning on OUR team to help with boundaries, navigating tricky moments, etc., so you can continue to LEAN IN.

SSG (R) Jatorin Owens, Sr. served two tours in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and two tours in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). He recently shared his knowledge with BIG Beyond Scholars regarding the importance of practicing emotional intelligence in the most crucial moments of instant decision-making and how emotional intelligence plays an integral role in being college- and career-ready. Scholars asked questions about the process and benefits of joining and serving in the military, in addition to how emotional intelligence has made a positive impact on SSG Owens’ personal and professional choices.

The first quarterly in-person meeting for the BIG Beyond will take place on October 21 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the International African American Museum located at 14 Wharfside St., Charleston, SC 29401. Our speaker will be Dr. Felice Knight, who serves as Director of Education at the IAAM.
